Fish monger and butcher in the back of the grocery is a rare find for Dallas area. I drive out of my way to shop here for fresh cut meat and fish.
The produce is very fresh also, with never seen before items. Carrots 3inches around, 5 types of yams and multiple types of potatoes. Cheaper than big name stores.
A traditional Asian market, complete with delicious ready made food, small shops of various goods (traveling, babbles, beauty products), and a well stocked supermarket. Pretty nice place.
If you can be adult enough to get over the smell you are in for a life changing experience. You will eat better than ever. Enjoy!
Pick your fish, then they will clean, cut and fry it for you. Very exotic types of fish. The mackerel is incredible.
Visited the grocery store for Thai iced tea and shrimp chips and spices Etc. They have things that I didn't know even existed. Fascinating store just to walk around and take it all in.
It was great coming here. The sights, the smells, the mellow atmosphere. There were all sorts of things on the grocery side of the mall that I had never seen before, nor could I pronounce their names. I got lunch by walking up to a random kiosk and pointing at a picture. Shrimp pho and spring rolls with a nice peanut sauce, washed down with Vietnamese iced coffee. The whole experience was great. The only downside was my inability to communicate with most of the people who worked there.
Saigon Mall is really a place to take your time and take in fully. Incredibly well stocked, clean, and with friendly staff, it's a great store. Fair prices (some downright dirt cheap) with a wild selection of fish and seafood, it's hard to find a better substitute.
